Itinerary Overview

In the morning drive for about two hours to Tiya Stele field, a UNESCO world heritage site. Tiya Stele field contains 36 monuments and several megaliths standing in the field and engraved with swords, plants and different symbols. The monuments are remains of an ancient Ethiopian culture dating back between 10th-12th centuries.

On the way, visit Adadi Mariam rock-hewn church built by King Lalibela in the 12th century and as to the churches sources it is comparable with the churches found in Lalibela town of northern Ethiopia.
On the way back to Addis, visit Melka Kunture archaeological site. Melka Kunture is a Paleolithic site. This site has yielded several eco facts and artifacts. A museum consisting of four buildings exhibits the artifacts and skeletons dating back to 1.8 million years. After the visit, proceed driving to Addis Ababa and transfer to the airport or your preferred location.
